The CBS national podcast got a mailbag question on transfers again. One listener who didn't like the previous statement that a top 50 transfer is better than a top 50 freshman. Gary Parish had been told by an anonynomous D1 coach that if he "wouldn't be doing his job" if he he couldn't find a recruit a transfer better than a high school player ranked outside of the top 75th. A sentiment that he said was normal among the 20 to 30 coaches he had talked too. I wrote about the highlights from their reporting here.

They had a few more nuggets on this podcast. Parrish said he's been told by coaches that they don't even recruit freshmen they don't think can be in the rotation because they will just leave. All you are doing is making them better for the next place they go.
